About Maria Abundantia

Maria Abundantia is a writer, creator, and mother whose work is rooted in lived experience with her 18-year-old non-speaking autistic son, Seth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Sciences from Nicholls State University, where she graduated cum laude with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology.

Her writing began as a search for deeper understanding around autism, especially society’s tendency to view non-speaking autistic people primarily through disability. Through life with Seth, Maria came to see a population often misunderstood — people with intelligence, emotional depth, sensitivity, and perception that may be hidden behind challenges with speech, motor control, and the body’s ability to cooperate.

Maria writes to help readers shift the way they interpret life. Her work explores the difference between viewing life as random coincidence and seeing it through synchronicity, meaning, and interconnectedness.
